Asymmetrical System for Language Exchange
My students are all over the web having conversations with native speakers of Spanish. What if we could host everything on SLATE? And what if we didn't just limit the languages to Spanish and English?
International classes/teachers/students and other SDP schools collaborating with SLA would each create a login and profile (admin approved).
Interface Possibilities:
-mircroblog
-click 'me gusta' for interesting updates, informs homepage feed-asymmetrical system (like Twitter - you can follow someone's updates with them following your own)
-groups made up of a mix of native speakers and learners of two specific languages
-chat
-video and audio enabled …1 vote -
Mobile/iPhone version of SLATE and/or moodle
The login boxes on SLATE are tiny and tough to work with when loading on an iPhone.
I don't know how much you can mess with moodle, but trying to navigate to your courses on the iphone is quite difficult.
